The first step is for you to fill out a foster home application. Upon receipt of your application, the 4 Luv of Dog Rescue application coordinator(s) will review your application and speak with your references to determine if you qualify for appropriately caring for a dog. Please allow us several days to review your application and contact your references. After an application is approved, a home visit is done. If there are no concerns about your home environment, your home visit report will be reviewed for proper foster placement. When a dog that is compatible with you, your family and home environment, becomes in need of a foster home, the foster home coordinator or foster home assistant coordinators will contact you.
Dogs listed on the Foster Home Needed page are currently in need of a foster home.
We try to match the foster dog to the home it will be going to. If you require a particular size, energy level, or breed, or if you need a dog
who is good with children or other pets, we do our best to meet that criteria.
There is minimal cost to the foster. 4 Luv of Dog Rescue pays the cost of all veterinary care, food, and other supplies the dog may need.
We cannot make any promises regarding how long a particular dog will be in your home.
We have found that foster homes are the best judge of what kind of home is the best fit for their foster dog’s particular needs. You will be involved in the screening process of potential adopters, in order to find the best home for the dog.
Yes, we do allow this. We ask that foster homes let us know asap of their decision to adopt their foster dog as we may need to contact other in-process applicants for the dog. We also require foster homes to submit a pre-adoption application, which may be processed, to determine if you are a suitable home for adopting the dog. We also require the foster home to pay the adoption donation fee.
