4/18/2020: Brinx continues to give us lots of laughs. She is such a character! We've learned she loves ice cubes - she loves to play with them for a little bit before she chews them up and then waits by the ice maker for more. She has been getting more and more playful with us and with our dogs and has even started snuggling with the small dogs.

Since the weather has been warming up, we've been taking her on long walks. Going on a walk is definitely one of her favorite activities. This crazy girl will grab anything blowing by her - a corn husk or a dried hydrangea head, for example - and carry it in her mouth while we walk. We have started feeding her with a snuffle mat, which is a flat piece of fabric with strands of fabric sewn onto it. We hide her food amongst the strands so she has to hunt around to find the food. It slows her down as she tends to inhale her food if it is served in a bowl.

Brinx did have a few skin flare-ups over the winter. Her skin became raw and itchy around her eyes and ears. We put her on Prednisone to clear it up and then started giving her Apoquel and she hasn't had any problems since.

We have enjoyed having Brinx around - she keeps us entertained and active during the days of quarantine!

2/5/2020: If you are looking for a dog with a huge personality, check out Brinx! She has the sassy personality of a very confident Chihuahua in a taller and leaner body. She is like one of those Chihuahua mixes that needs to know that the person entering the house/room isn't a threat so we tell people to ignore her and let her come to them on her own terms.

No apartments for this girl - she loves the sound of her own voice. She barks when she sees something out the window, when people arrive at our house, or when she wants to play or go outside, or...when she's hungry. You get the idea.

Brinx acts like a tough bossy girl but once she settles down, she is a cuddly sweetheart. Her favorite pastime is cuddling with her person. In our home, she's chosen my husband as her person and she follows him everywhere.

She will take the most direct route to her destination and will often sail over furniture rather than go around it. She seems to have springs in her legs and can jump very high with little effort. A baby gate or low fence would be no match for her.

Brinx is potty trained and crate trained. She gets along well with our dogs but as with people, she thinks she's the boss of them. She gets up close and barks at them but they are older and go about their business, which mostly entails sleeping. When she's in a playful mood, they don't respond to her, so I think she would love to have a playmate that would allow her to set the rules. She enjoys toys and playing with people too.

We love this little spitfire and we're excited to help her find her forever home
