9/23/21 Volunteer Feedback: Look at this hunk of muscles. If short and stalky is your type, Orbit’s your guy. He enjoys sniffing endlessly in the grass for things unknown to his human helpers. But just because we can’t see it doesn’t mean he can’t smell it! He is learning how to take treats and keep all 4 paws on the ground when excited, like the gentleman he aspires to be. Orbit is pretty chill when he’s not meeting new human helpers at the rescue or trying to use his good looks to get some treats. Favorite food: peanut butter stuck inside the Kong. Favorite activity: sniffing the grass and lifting my paw when the human treat dispenser says “shake” Least favorite past time: the time when I had to wear an ugly plastic neck scarf after surgery.
9/9/21 Volunteer Feedback : I only met Orbit for a short period of time, but he made a big impression! Besides being handsome with a meatball-ish figure, he has a very bubbly, goofy personality. He is currently at our facility while he waits for a foster, or better yet, adoptive home. Orbit was quiet in his kennel when I first entered the kennel area. He was very happy and friendly as I approached his kennel and let me enter it with no issues. Once in his kennel, he didn't jump up and was very well-mannered. I leashed him up and walked him out of his kennel with ease - no pulling or darting past me. Orbit walked well on the leash, minimal pulling, and kept his attention on me.
I introduced Orbit to my female Pit Bull and he did awesomely! He was very friendly with her, and initiated play immediately. My dog is a bit older and isn't as energetic as Orbit, so she did correct him once when he was too much in her face, and he took her correction without any negative reaction. Orbit didn't show any resource guarding around toys or treats, but it's always a good idea to err on the side of caution when bringing a new dog into the home.
Stay tuned for more feedback as we learn more about this handsome fella!
