* Dog-savvy cats
10/18/21: Flora continues to be an absolute joy to have around. She has shown more of her personality as she gets more comfortable and has become a little more mischievous (typical puppy) but is so easy and gentle.
I took her to an adoption event and she did so well! Flora was a little timid at first but soon became happy with the treats and pets from all. She is super food motivated and has been a very eager student.
I will be sad to see Flora go, but she is going to be such a great little dog for someone. I just know you'll love her too.
10/8/2021: Flora first arrived about 10 days ago. It is likely that she had never been in a house before as she was very timid and unsure. After a few days, she realized how good the house-dog life is and quickly became comfortable with her new routine. She has had no accidents, kennels like a dream, and doesn't get into anything she isn't supposed to.
Flora loves to be outside and zooms around the yard. She is so fast and has lots to say when she's playing. As well as zooming, she loves walks. Flora walks well, but she could use some additional leash training as she is distracted easily by squirrels and bunnies. She gets along well with my dog and definitely looks to him when she needs a little boost of confidence. She can be a bit of an annoying little sister and doesn't always understand social cues. An older grumpy dog would not be the best sibling for her. I also have two cats, which she's done well with. She likes to know what they're doing and follows them around. Dog-savvy cats would be best as she would probably be too much for a cat that wasn't used to doggy presence.
Flora has shown some herding breed tendencies and likes to direct where people go sometimes. That means she gets mouthy and pushes you with her nose. She would do best with older children because of this. She has shown some timidness when meeting new people so a patient family is needed. If you're looking for a sweet, petite, sassy, playful pup then Flora is the girl for you!
