Foster Home Feedback
5/12/2022 Foster Feedback: Batman is an energetic, playful Lab that loves his people! His favorite game is fetch. He knows how to sit, shake, and "give hugs". And he'll gladly take any treat you offer. But his all-time favorite thing is to be with his people. He's an 85-pound lap dog who would love to sit with you for snuggles.
Batman has been around dogs of all ages and sizes and gets along well with them all. He can sometimes bark and try to run to other dogs he sees on walks, which is usually just him trying to play with them. But he doesn't know his own strength and leash training is a work in progress. He's been around a lot of people and loves their attention. He hasn't been around kids often, and his big size and energy may be too much for some small children, but otherwise, he would probably do well with kids. He has not been around cats.
At night, he usually sleeps on the couch or a dog bed in our room. Every once in a while he sleeps on our bed with us, but he can be a huge bed hog!
Batman came to the rescue as a stray, and his owners never came to look for him. Naturally, he does have separation anxiety, and he can take some time to adapt to a new home. He also doesn't like being left alone and will bark if he's kenneled. He can be pretty talkative at other times, too, to let you know what he’s feeling. But he's been doing well learning from the other dogs in our home. He doesn't need another dog in his forever home though; as long as he has his person, he's happy. Because he was a stray, and we're not sure if he ran off, he should have a secure environment when he's outdoors. This could be a fenced-in yard or being on a leash with supervision when he's outside.
Batman is a sweetheart with a lot of love to give! He'll need someone who is comfortable helping him with his training and who can help him work through his anxiety. And while there is work involved, he'll be happy to give many kisses, snuggles, and lots of love in return!
