Esperanza is such a sweet girl looking for lots of attention in her new home.
Foster Home Feedback
1/2/2023 Foster Feedback: Esperanza (Espy) came to the rescue when she had parvo, and she is now healthy and ready to find her new home! She is a shy, bashful girl, but warms up to people pretty quickly. She seems to be fonder of women, but does find that men mean her no harm after a short while.
She was afraid of my cats when she first met them, but now she attempts to play with them with zero success (they are old and grumpy). She currently lives with 2 Boston Terriers, which she spends a lot of time snuggling with on the couch. She is kennel trained, but if she knows you are home or awake in the morning, she will let out some light whimpers until you pay attention to her. She is the most excited when she gets out of the kennel and gets to spend time with her people and animal friends.
She is mostly potty-trained. She goes outside on cue, and runs hot laps around the yard and tries to play with her doggy friends. However, if you let her free roam in the house, whether you are home or not, she will find a spot to go potty when you aren't looking. Frequent potty breaks seem to help. She has not shown any aggression towards men, women, kids, cats, or dogs at all, including food or toy aggression. She would flourish in any home, but would particularly like to be in a home where her humans can spend a lot of time with her, and she will return the affection tenfold.
** Esperanza tested positive for Parvovirus. Esperanza was treated for the disease and is making a wonderful recovery. Because there is a chance Esperanza could still be shedding the virus he can not be exposed to other puppies for 3 months. Caution should be taken with exposing Esperanza to adult healthy dogs too but the risk of an adult healthy dog contracting Parvo is very minimal. Absolutely no dog parks, human park, puppy school or pet stores for at least 3 months
