Foster Home Feedback
** Dog-savvy cats only (a cat knowing how to deal with a dog)
2/26/2023 Foster Feedback: Towing is such a playful little man who has done tremendously well with learning how to potty outside. He also goes willingly into his kennel but don’t forget the treat afterwards! We have discovered that by using a sound machine while he’s in his kennel at night, he will settle down a bit faster. We recently discovered that he is scared of our ceiling fan. He’s a little shadow and follows you everywhere you go, particularly in the kitchen! When we first got Towing, he had some food aggression, but he has gotten a lot better, probably because he realizes that he no longer has to fight for his food. He is however, still protective of high value treats and toys. Towing was a big fan of this recent snow storm, mostly because it gave him fresh snow to play in! His last sitter mentioned that he would do best with dog savvy cats but is also easily directed away from them. We have been working on basic commands such as sit and shake. He’s still learning down and off, but he’s such a smart dog that he’ll catch on quickly. Towing does really well with our two girls but can get a bit mouthy when overly excited.
Favorites: Treats of any kind, snow, playing fetch, belly scratches
Dislikes: Ceiling fans and large crowds
2/11/2023 Foster Feedback: Towing is a 1.5-year-old shepherd mix who came to the rescue as a happy little man. You would think he’s part bear cub with his little cub ears. He’s got a forever puppy look on his face that he uses to his advantage. He’s slowly getting used to the indoor life by learning that when we potty outside, we get yummy treats. He was showing signs of food guarding so he eats his meals in his kennel, although he’s not a huge fan of his kennel because then he can’t follow you wherever you go. He’s very playful with our dog, Sailor. He is doing great with our kids, 3 years old and 7 months old, usually just sniffs them and walks away. He hasn’t met any cats yet. He is easily corrected when he grabs something that’s not his. Towing would do great in an obedience class or something that would keep his mind busy. He’s a quick learner, especially with yummy treats. He’s done great with everyone that he’s met, especially ones that will give him belly scratches. Towing does great on his leash for walks and didn’t react to other dogs’ barking on our walks.
