Foster Home Feedback
2/26/2023 Foster Feedback: Steiger has all the best dog characteristics. Great personality, is potty trained, crate trained, great on walks, listens well, has goofy mannerisms, and is playful when you want him to be. He loves eating time and is very treat motivated. He usually has to be sitting wherever you are and likes to get as close to you as possible. He seems to be easily trained if there is a behavior you don’t want him to do. His favorite thing of all is to fetch balls and has the cutest way of bringing them back and tossing them to you so you can do it all again. He really likes toys but isn’t satisfied with the cloth ones until they are torn apart. He needs heavy chewer-type toys. The good thing is he only goes for toys to chew on. He has not attempted to chew any shoes or any of our other personal items. He knows to stay well and is patient until you give him the ok. He also knows how to sit, shake, and lay down and seems quick to learn other tricks we are working with him on. He’s mostly a quiet dog but will bark when he hears someone come through the door or hears some noises outside.
We don’t have any other dogs, but we have a cat which he mostly ignores. If the cat runs by it gets Steiger’s attention and he will sometimes react by chasing him but quickly stops if you say his name. He enjoys hopping in the car and going for a ride when given the chance.
All in all, he’s been a joy to have around and would be a great dog to adopt.
