Foster Home Feedback
9/25/23 Foster Feedback: Obi is a very sweet boy once he warms up to people, he warms up to women faster than men. He is very slow to approach anyone new but once he gets comfortable, he is the goofiest, sweetest boy.
He has grown so much over the last 6 months that I have fostered him. He was found as a stray and so scared at first, he has learned to be a dog and absolutely loves playing catch and running the fence line with the neighbor dog. We are still working on not pulling on walks, but he loves to go on them. He loves to play with other dogs and has met several of all sizes, we just do a slow introduction to ensure he is not overwhelmed at first but once he gets to know them, he will play for hours.
We are working on basic commands still; Obi knows place and stay but sit and lay down are ones he tends to ignore though he knows what is being asked. He loves car rides and pontoon rides, not so much swimming in the lakes though.
Obi does not do well in a kennel or secured in a small space; he is better if he can scan his perimeter. He is slow to warm up to anyone at the house, we are working on helping him get over his fear, he does much better meeting new people outside of the home.
Since he's so cautious, he has been around older children, but not so much around smaller as he can get skittish and doesn't pay attention to his surroundings. He has met a few cats and has not been too interested but not directly in his home.
Obi is so sweet once he gets to know you. He is the biggest cuddler, he loves to be close and will nuzzle right in.
