Foster Home Feedback

7/31/23 Foster Feedback:  Haven is a very smart, quirky houseguest.  She will go into her kennel, but doesn't like it and will probably destroy cushions and kennel trays trying to get out.  However, she is fine if left out while you are gone, and really appreciates a blind left open so she can see outside.  She's been out roaming free for up to 8 hours without any trouble.

Haven does not counter surf, beg at the table, or whine.  She lays nicely when getting her nails clipped.  She will let you know when she has to go outside.  She loves fireworks and is not scared of the vacuum.  She hardly barks.

Haven gets along with our small dog, but when she wants to play she overwhelms him.  She is much stronger and hasn't picked up on his cues to stop.  She is super-friendly and loves attention, tough, and also likes to just pick her favorite chair/recliner (or your lap) and relax.

She does need some training on pulling when walking if she finds a scent she likes.  It’s really cute cause if you try and pull her away from her spot she plops her front legs and body down and tries not to move, while her butt is in air.

Haven is a sweet companion, loves people, and understands basic commands.  She has a cute howl when she wants to talk to you, which she uses when you get home to tell you all about her day.

Prior Foster Feedback: Are you looking for your next best friend!? Then Haven is your gal. Haven is one of the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. Everyone who has meets her falls in love. She loves to go for walks and then is ready to cuddle up to you on the couch.  She is a strong girl and does pull on walks but has gotten much better with the correct harness. She does not do well in a crate but is completely fine being left out and doesn't get into anything. She has the cutest "howl" and will tell you when she is hungry or needs to go potty.  She can get a little over excited meeting other dogs and does better with slower introductions. She is an older lady and likes to play with other dogs but when she is done she is done. She would do well with a mellow dog or one that is also a bit older.  She would also do very well as the only dog since she loves all the attention. She is an absolute joy to have around and would love to be your next best friend!
