Foster Home Feedback
11/18/23 Foster Feedback: We have made great progress in potty training! Sniffer lets us know it’s time by tapping on the door, doing her business and coming right back in. Accidents are few and far between!
Sniffer is loving going for long walks and does great on a leash. The neighborhood kids love giving her pets as we walk by and she adores the attention.
Her favorite toys are stuffed toys (she plays nice with them and doesn’t destroy them!) and chew toys. She could entertain herself for hours with a nice antler or plastic chew bone.
She would love a home for the holidays that would sneak her some fresh green beans or asparagus, her two favorites!
11/10/23 Foster Feedback: Sniffer is 100% Beagle…a nose on four legs! She absolutely loves being outside and smelling all the smells! She spent the last few years of her life living in a shop and having free access to the outdoors, so she is getting used to living inside with her humans again (and is doing a great job!) She loves snuggling under the covers in bed and resting on a fluffy blanket.
Since she is newer to being back inside, there have been a few potty accidents as she gets acclimated. Sniffer would do best in a home that will be patient with her as she relearns going potty outside and will reinforce this with lots of treats.
We have also learned that she can climb a short chain link fence, so a 6’ fence or a plan to keep her secure is a must! We currently have her on a tie out in our fenced yard when we aren’t able to be out with her, which is working perfectly.
While Sniffer is used to being an only dog, she is getting along well with her foster beagle brothers. She would do well with playful or younger dogs, as she has a lot of spunk for a 7 year old dog! She is doing great on short walks around the neighborhood too, where she gets to soak up all the smells.
We were told that she's good with kids but she loves food, so you might have to work on teaching her that their snacks aren't her treats.
