** Crockett has been diagnosed with a grade 2 luxating patella of both knees. This means it is possible for the kneecaps to move in and out of the patellar groove with pressure. This is a common orthopedic issue in small breed dogs. At this time it is not painful and does not cause any trouble. Some dogs will live with a low grade medial patellar luxation their entire life with no problems, however in some dogs it can be progressive and surgical intervention may become necessary. The adopter agrees to provide this surgery at their cost should it become necessary.

10/01/2024 Foster Feedback: Crockett is a beautiful and sweet little dog.
He loves to play with his toys, play fetch, and go for walks and car rides. He likes adults but we haven't observed him around kids so not sure how he would do with them. Crockett likes to play with other dogs and he loves to snuggle under a blanket.
He has not barked inside the house yet as long as there is someone with him in the house. If he is alone he will bark, whimper and howl as he has some separation anxiety in which we are working on that. Crockett would probably do better in a home that has other dogs as he does not get as anxious then if his person is not home. When he is outside, he rarely barks unless he sees other dogs. He gets excited if his person he is with has been gone for a few hours and will bark and jump up at them and run around the house when they come home.
Crockett is very smart. He knows basic commands such as sit, no jump, potty, outside, get down. He likes to go on car rides but safer to be in a crate or pet seat belt, although he'd rather be free. If free he will want to climb from back seat to front back and forth. If you say "back" or "Crockett back", he seems to understand that means to stay in the back, consistency is key for Crockett.
He is still working on potty training. He does not go in the house if his person is home. He will alert you that he has to go by quietly sitting by the door waiting for you to let him out. If no one is home he will go potty in the house. This is a work in progress.
This little dog is a wonderful little companion. It's so easy to fall in love with him. All he wants is to be loved and have a good family to give him a safe and forever home.
8/18/2024 Foster Feedback: Crocket is a very nice, fun loving beagle. He is a typical beagle and is always on the go following his nose. A fenced yard would be best for him. He does bark! He is not potty trained but we are working on it.
