Tawnie is a little love bug looking for a place to call her forever home.

Foster Home Feedback

09/16/24:  There are so many wonderful words to describe Tawnie: grateful, appreciative, snuggly, loving, genuine, friendly, playful, content, patient, beautiful, shiny, soft, silky, awesome ........all of the Good Dog things.  She is also a beautiful deep chocolate brown color.

Tawnie came from a regional City pound -- she was very very thin and had to go through a refeeding protocol to get her metabolism and stomach size back on track.  She's now gained over10 lbs. and will probably gain another 5-10 yet.   In my gut I feel she was left alone for long periods of time (which also explains her every rib showing at intake).  She is so patient and content to go lay down in her crate for a nap, snooze in the sun in the yard (her favorite), or hang out by herself -- and when given any kind of attention she is lets you know she is so grateful.  You can see it in her eyes.  She truly enjoys being with her people and the family dogs.  She deserves a person or family or couple or whomever to absolutely love her up and give her the home she finally deserves.

Tawnie sleeps at night in her crate, or loose too, crates when we are at work and not a peep out of her, is potty trained, and walks very nice on a leash - while she may be inquisitive and all over the place, she is not a puller -- except for when she spots a squirrel up close, but then again those little feisty red ones are annoying.  She is also an excellent passenger in a vehicle.

We have a few of our own dogs - big and little - and she co-exists with all of them without a ripple.  The 5# dog loves to play with Tawnie, and Tawnie appropriately downsizes her play.  She also loves to run zoomies around the back yard with the 5# dog at her heels.

This dog is special -- and deserves a special home loaded with lots of love to give her.  She will give back unconditionally in return.
