Foster Home Feedback

12/12/25 Foster Feedback: Sundance is the sweetest goofball you’ll ever meet. He absolutely loves cuddles and will happily flop right on top of you just to make sure he gets them. At the same time, he’s perfectly fine curling up on the floor or in his kennel when it’s time to rest. He’s amazing on a leash and doesn’t pull at all. Out in public, he’s calm and curious—he’ll watch other dogs walk by without barking, even in busy pet stores. He was a total gentleman at the vet too, greeting everyone like they were his best friend and behaving beautifully the whole time.

Sundance is very motivated by food and play, which makes him easy to work with. He listens when told to back up while you’re cooking and takes his medicine with no fuss when it’s mixed into his food. Mealtime is one of his favorite parts of the day, so sticking to a schedule is important—he’d definitely eat the whole bag if you let him. He loves rolling around in fresh, fluffy snow and exploring everything around him. He’s curious about the world but still a little cautious in new situations.

Sundance gets along great with other dogs. Most of the time, he’ll give them a quick look and then mind his own business. When he’s scared, he either freezes or runs to his “safe spot.” In my house, that happens to be my 15-pound dog’s bed, which is hilarious considering his 78-pound frame. He knows to go potty when let outside, though sometimes he gets distracted and needs a gentle reminder to finish up.

Sundance  goes into his kennel on his own, especially if he knows there’s a treat waiting for him. Bath time is no problem either—he steps in and out when told and just likes to keep his head resting over the edge while you wash him. He can’t resist checking out what’s on the counter or in the garbage once in a while, but he listens right away when told to stop. And when you tell him “no,” he’ll hit you with the most dramatic “whale eyes” you’ve ever seen. Overall, Sundance is a big-hearted, funny, and gentle boy who just wants to be close to his people and make them smile.

12/6/25 Foster Feedback: Meet Sundance — the most lovable goofball!

Sundance never fails to make me laugh. He may be nearing his 7th birthday, but don’t let that fool you — this guy has spunk for days! He’s playful, affectionate, and full of personality.

Here are a few things you should know about Sundance:

Playful, not hyper: Sundance loves to play but isn’t over-the-top energetic. He’s perfectly content entertaining himself by chewing on or tossing his ball around.
If it looks like a ball… it’s his. Don’t bother trying to convince him otherwise.
Selective attention: You could have 50 balls out, but if you hide the special squeaky one, suddenly no other ball exists.
Tennis balls beware: They last about five minutes. The Chuck-It brand has proven to be the only survivor so far.
Fetch rules: Sundance loves to play fetch—but “give it” is still a work in progress. The secret? Two balls. Throw one, he’ll chase it. Throw the second, and he’ll usually drop the first to go after the new one. Repeat as long as you can keep up, because Sundance definitely won’t quit first!

When playtime’s over, Sundance transforms into the world’s cutest cuddle bug. If I lie down, he’s right there, doubling as a very adorable heated (and weighted) blanket. Personal space? Sundance doesn’t really believe in it. Whether you’re eating, doing dishes, or showering, he just likes to hang out nearby — not because he’s needy, but because he loves being close to his people.

Sundance is the perfect mix of goofy, loyal, and loving — a dog who can keep you laughing one minute and melt your heart the next.
