Foster Home Feedback
6/16/2026 Foster Feedback: Ronin's name is very fitting, and he took to it right away. He was quite skinny when he came to us, but has a big appetite, fruit and treats are his favorite. He tends to gobble his food, so he uses a slow feeder for meals and reminders to "take it nice" otherwise he might mistake your fingers for treats. He was quick to learn schedules and will remind you if you're late. He's pretty tall, so he's learning boundaries with counters and the table. He is very food motivated and easily redirected.
Ronin is in the process of potty training; we are weaning him off the belly bands and he will go to the door or gate when ready to go outside. He sleeps in his crate over night with no accidents and usually will let us know about 6am when he needs a break. During the day he enjoys playing with his foster and resident brothers. When they need a break, he can entertain himself or find a cozy spot for a nap.
In his week with us he has really grown into his personality, he's a big goofy boy with the typical puppy energy but just as happy to be in your lap too. He tends to forget how his back legs work and will ask to be picked up for snuggles. Not sure how long picking him up will last, as he grows into his paws. Ronin is getting braver in venturing further into the yard and is curious about all the sounds and people he sees from the deck. We are working on manners, simple commands, and recall. Ronin will need a family with patience and that are puppy savvy to keep up on training for setting up good behaviors. It's hard to tell exactly what breed Ronin is, but by the size of his toe beans he might be a bigger than average pup. He'll need space to grow and plenty of exercise. Ronin is a sweetheart with lots of love to give, I have no doubt that he'll find a great home.
