** Wini had an episode of several seizures in a short period of time, while in an adopter’s home. Her bloodwork did not identify an obvious metabolic cause for the seizures. Given her young age and the absence of another identified cause, juvenile epilepsy is currently suspected. She was started on Levetiracetam to manage them. The cost of a 30 day supply from the clinic was $42, at a human pharmacy it is closer to $75, she is also on Phenobarb, the cost is $33 for a 30 day supply, this will vary between clinics and pharmacies. She has had no additional seizures since her dismissal from the emergency clinic.
It is recommended that care be established with a primary vet to continue refilling the medication. Veterinary clinics will require annual monitoring of her Phenobarb levels to make sure it is within a therapeutic range. This is typically completed every 6-12 months, but that requirement will vary by vet clinic.

8/5/2026 Foster Feedback: Wini is a spunky gal, who has a wicked side eye. She leans on being more submissive but isn't afraid to get in the mix and play with our other foster and resident dogs. Being 6-7 months old, we are working on potty training. She tends to forget that being in the yard isn't just for fun and may need subtle reminders to go potty. She is very food motivated which helps when working on basic commands and manners.
Wini is very curious about everything, no food or drinks are safe unattended -especially anything with whipped cream! She may be small but that doesn't stop her from trying to get into things. Working on recall has been helpful to deter her from counter-surfing. She enjoys being outside, typically you can find her sun bathing or chewing on sticks in the yard. She has puppy energy but loves a good snuggle on the couch. She has spent minimal time with children, but does well with them. I would suggest a home with considerate children. If your looking for a bit of spice in your life, Wini is your lady.
