Foster Home Feedback

6/23/25 Foster Feedback: Meet Debbie – A Sweet Soul Looking for a Calm Home

Debbie is a gentle and loving pup who’s still learning that the world is a safe place. Over the weekend, she showed her sweet and cuddly side, especially when she felt comfortable, but also gave us some insight into what kind of home might help her thrive.

Debbie can be a bit unsure around men and young children. While she never acted aggressively, she did growl when feeling uneasy and preferred to keep her distance when approached by men or when there was a lot of activity around her. She also seemed a little overwhelmed by other dogs during this time, especially during storms, which may have added to her nervousness.

Debbie would do best in a calm, patient home with adults or older teens who can help build her confidence and go at her own pace. She may also prefer being the only pet for now or with a very calm companion. With time, consistency, and love, we believe Debbie will continue to blossom and show even more of her sweet personality.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion and are willing to help a shy girl come out of her shell, Debbie might be the perfect match.

5/22/25 Foster Feedback: Debbie has adapted well into her foster home after less than a week and plays well with her foster sister. Debbie  knows sit, down, kennel and walks great on lead.  She is fine without being kenneled even when her humans leave for a bit.  She is so excited to see her humans again that she will jump so we are working on that as well as “stay”.  Debbie loves getting her back scratched, running in the back yard and going for walks.  She loves to read all the messages that other dogs leave for her while on her walks and enjoys meeting new humans (even little humans) along the way.  Debbie  is a great backseat passenger in the car as well.  If you are looking for a loving, playful, good girl, Debbie is the one.
