Adoption Donation: $250 (applicable sales tax included) PLUS a $100 deposit is required and is to be refunded once proof of spay/neuter is provided to this rescue. Our adoption contract requires all dogs to be spayed/neutered within ONE Month of adoption or when age-appropriate. Adoption fees may be paid by cash or check.

Puppies generally need the following veterinary care after their adoption:
8 Weeks: Distemper/Parvo & Bordetella Vaccinations. 4 Luv of Dog Rescue completes these vaccinations before adoption.
12 Weeks: Distemper/Parvo Vaccination completed at the veterinarian of adopter's choice.
16 Weeks: Distemper/Parvo & Rabies Vaccinations completed at the veterinarian of adopter's choice.
6 Months: Spay/Neuter surgery. **
Yearly thereafter: All dogs need yearly wellness exams performed by a veterinarian as well as booster vaccinations.
**Spay/Neuter surgeries cost between $200-$400 for a neuter surgery and $400-$600 for a spay surgery in the FM Area. Wellness visits can run from $75 to $150 for each visit. If you are thinking of adopting a puppy, it's a good idea to research these costs before adopting by calling the veterinarian of your choice.
** Vesuvius has a small umbilical hernia. If it is present at the time of the spay it will need to be repaired at the adopter's expense. It will likely add about an additional $80-$100 to the cost of the spay, depending on the vet clinic. The adopter agrees to this.

Sweet little Vesuvius may be small now, but her personality is already bubbling over! At just 8 weeks old, this shepherd mix puppy is full of playful energy and curiosity. She loves exploring her surroundings, chasing after toys, and discovering new things every day.
When she’s not bouncing around, Vesuvius is just as happy to curl up in your lap for a good cuddle. She’s the perfect balance of active and affectionate, ready to keep you smiling with her goofy puppy antics and warm snuggles.
Vesuvius is still young and will thrive in a home that’s ready for all the fun (and patience!) that comes with raising a puppy—teaching her manners, showing her the world, and helping her grow into the loyal, smart companion shepherd mixes are known to be.
