Foster Home Feedback

2/18/2026 Foster Feedback: Hitch Trailblazer continues to be the sweetest boy. He loves to cuddle and will happily melt right into your lap whenever you let him. He has officially mastered going potty in all temps and is doing amazing with ringing the potty bells to let me know when he needs to go out. That said, he has also learned he can ring them when he just wants to go outside and check on the neighbors… he’s a little nosy and likes to stay in the loop.

Hitch Trailblazer crates really well at night (although he would definitely prefer to sleep with you if given the choice) and does great in his crate when I leave the house. Right now, he isn’t ready to be left out unattended because he’s still a curious young guy who might get into things, but with continued training and maturity, I truly think he will get there.

We are still working on jumping, which mainly happens when he’s let out of his crate because he’s so excited, or when meeting new people. He’s eager to please and improving with consistency.

Hitch Trailblazer has now been with us for a month and has become absolute best friends with my resident dog. Watching their bond grow has been the sweetest thing. Hitch also seems to have an internal alarm clock and enjoys waking up at 7am to go potty… then, just like me, hopes it’s the weekend so we can all cuddle and go back to sleep for a few more hours.

Overall, Hitch Trailblazer is affectionate, smart, and eager to be close to his people. He’s making great progress and is going to be such an incredible companion.

1/21/2026 Foster Feedback:  Hitch has been with me for about three days now. He is super sweet with a gentle, slightly shy nature. He’s been settling in beautifully and gaining confidence each day. Once Hitch feels comfortable, his personality really starts to shine.  Hitch  has that perfect young-dog balance: some playful puppy energy mixed with a deep love for naps and lounging. Hitch isn’t a big fan of the cold, so potty breaks have required a little patience, but he’s already improving and learning the routine quickly.  On leash, Hitch is a dream—he walks amazingly well with no pulling at all. While he hasn’t had a lot of formal manners training yet, he shows his affection enthusiastically by jumping up and offering lots of kisses, especially to faces.  Hitch knows how to sit and takes treats very gently. He’s incredibly respectful with my senior resident dog, who likes to set clear boundaries when she’s tired or needs space. Hitch responds beautifully to her corrections and has been polite, calm, and thoughtful in their interactions. The two have been sniffing each other respectfully and are already becoming good friends.  Overall, Hitch is a loving, sensitive, and affectionate young dog who will thrive in a home that continues to build his confidence and help him learn basic manners. He has so much love to give and is going to make a wonderful companion.
