Happy Tail for Judge!

Happy Tail for Judge!

If you are debating on adopting…DO IT!!!!

Judge, formerly known as Tony, won my heart before we even saw a photo.  After misreading a post that a mastiff/bullmastifff was euthanized the day prior I went into panic and was determined to find and adopt him if he was still alive.  Glad to say 4LuvOfDog rescued him and after a short period of time we brought the big, but skinny, drool machine home.  Judge immediately fell in love with our other bullmastiff, Sheriff. He adores our 14 month old twins and is so gentle with them and sleeps with our 7 year old Gavin.  Sheriff and him share treats and he’s starting to gain some weight.  It’s tough because he spends most of his days running around the back yard with Sheriff bouncing around, eating trees, ripping the tires off bicycles, and shredding feeding bowls.  They are like two rhinasaurus’s with 4 brain cells and with the coordination of a brainless turkey, but may be the funniest thing you’ve ever seen. They were even kind enough to help me refill their bowls by ripping open several 50 lb bags of dog food and distributing it around their heated garage in an excited manner. LOL.  They are both in obedience classes and listen wonderfully, but “twins” always know how to stir up some trouble/fun.  He was learning to fetch but instead of bringing items back he just buries them in the yard.  Sheriff will dig them up and bring it back.  I guess it’s teamwork!!!  They love to help with laundry (as you can see in their “sitting together” photo) they have emptied the laundry basket while playing.
Judge was shy at first but now he jumps in circles in his crate during the babies feeding time as he knows they will start poking treats through the door, dinner that the twins are supposed to be eating.  I think he thinks they are PEZ dispensers as everywhere they go they leave treats for him and Sheriff.  He’s taken up a love of Funions but due to our need for clean breathing air we try to limit the delicious snack.  We’ve lost all ability to sit on the floor as he thinks he’s a lap dog at approximately 100 lbs (vet says he’s 50 lbs underweight)…and makes sure you have a sloppy kiss anytime you need it.   We weren’t looking to add a dog to the family at the time but we’re so happy he was looking for us.  We love him and he is part of the family and will be forever.  I cannot imagine anyone putting him through starvation and neglect as he is the most wonderful sweetie and compliments our bonehead bullmastiff wonderfully.  We’ve even discussed adding one more down the road….When we have a bigger home, concrete furniture, and a 24 hour drool mopping service.
Thank you to everyone who made his life possible.   He is incredible and is the best friend to our already adored Sheriff.  And I have to admit, we’re pretty in love as well.  Updates to follow.
Love,
The Waltons (Neil, Stacey, Gavin, Magnolia, Stryker, Sheriff, and Judge aka Tony)
